In the classic Mere Christianity, C.S. Lewis, the most important writer of the 20th century, explores the common ground upon which all of those of Christian faith stand together. Bringing together Lewis’ legendary broadcast talks during World War Two from his three previous books The Case for Christianity, Christian Behavior, and Beyond Personality, Mere Christianity provides an unequaled opportunity for believers and nonbelievers alike to hear this powerful apologetic for the Christian faith.

When it comes to the history of the universe, many believe that science and faith are mutually exclusive. But in this revised version of Origins, physics professors Loren and Deborah Haarsma explore what God's Word and God's world teach us about creation, evolution, and intelligent design.

Clearly explaining the science, the authors focus on areas where Christians agree. They also present the strengths and weaknesses of areas where Christians differ.

Origins helps you develop a deeper understanding of the origins of the universe and sort out your own views on faith and science. Small group discussion questions follow each chapter. A companion website provides resources for further study.

Patterns of the Western Mind provides an accessible overview and evaluation of some heartfelt, history-making, theory-laden responses in the West to the Word and works of God over the course of time. In addition, while standing on some of the shoulders of those who have gone before in the name of Christ, Kok explains the sense of some basic thought patterns that are in line with Scripture and in that sense deserve the name "christian." The two main parts of this book make for a valuable introduction to reformational philosophy--the first one of its kind written by a native English speaker for a North American audience. Interspersed are guide questions useful for individual or classroom study.

The Institue for Christian Studies has printed up in an attractive 36-page booklet Calvin Seerveld’s convocation address which signalled his retirement. The title is “Philosophical Aesthetics at Home with the Lord: An Untimely Valedictory.” The booklet includes three photos, Seerveld’s translation of Psalm 91, his versification of Genevan Psalm 141, and a poem by Luci Shaw.In the address Seerveld identifies concisely what he considers to be essential to faithful work in aesthetics, what he understands to be the best kind of Christian scholarship, and the ways in which he has attempted to do it as a trust before the Lord. The booklet fittingly brings to a dose Seerveld’s formal service at ICS.
